White Oak is a large native deciduous tree admired for its strong branching structure, broad canopy, and rounded-lobed leaves. In spring, subtle catkins appear as the tree leafs out, followed by green summer foliage that provides dense shade. By fall, the leaves often turn shades of red, russet, brown, or wine-purple before dropping. Mature trees also produce acorns, which add natural character and provide food for birds and wildlife.

3. Mulching: Apply a wide mulch ring around the root zone to conserve moisture, reduce competition from turf, and protect the trunk from mower or trimmer damage. Keep mulch pulled back from the bark.

4. Pruning: Prune young trees to develop a strong central structure and well-spaced branches. Mature trees generally need only occasional pruning to remove damaged, crossing, or poorly placed limbs.
