Green Hosta brings bold foliage texture to shaded gardens from spring through fall. Leaves emerge from the crown in spring and expand into a rounded clump, creating a cooling green backdrop for brighter flowers and finer-textured shade plants. Depending on the selection, summer blooms may appear in shades of lavender to white on upright scapes held above the foliage. These flowers add light vertical interest and may attract pollinators in season.

This deciduous perennial dies back after frost and returns from the crown each spring. Remove spent flower stems after blooming for a cleaner look, and cut back yellowed foliage after frost or in early spring before new shoots emerge. Green Hosta is especially effective along shaded walkways, beneath small ornamental trees, around foundations, in woodland-style plantings, and in containers placed out of hot afternoon sun. Provide mulch and steady moisture for the fullest, freshest foliage.
