Crimson Sentry Maple is selected for its deep maroon-purple foliage and naturally upright, compact habit. Small spring flowers are generally not the main ornamental feature, but they may be followed by winged samaras typical of Norway maples.

This tree is deciduous, dropping its leaves in fall and revealing a structured winter framework.
