Cleveland Select Pear is a deciduous ornamental flowering tree known for abundant white spring blooms, glossy green foliage, upright pyramidal form, and bold fall color. Its narrow habit makes it useful for sunny lawns, streetscapes, entry plantings, and formal landscape accents.
1. Planting: Plant Cleveland Select Pear in full sun with well-drained soil and enough space for its upright canopy to mature. Set the root flare at or slightly above grade, backfill with native soil, and water thoroughly after planting.
Cleveland Select Pear typically blooms in early spring, producing clusters of white flowers before the canopy fully leafs out.
It commonly matures around 30 to 40 feet tall and 15 to 20 feet wide, depending on growing conditions, soil, pruning, and available space.
The glossy green foliage often changes to red-orange, burgundy, and purple tones in fall, giving the tree strong late-season ornamental value.
Plant it in a sunny, open location where its upright canopy has room to develop. It works well for lawns, entries, streetscapes, and formal accent plantings.
